Today, your friends at FCS look at the success that was this week…

before priming you for Sunday’s NFL action.

Let’s Get Ready For Sunday

What Happened: We’ve got ourselves 13 NFL games on Sunday (if you need a recap of last night’s game, scroll down please) and a whole lot of teams sporting 1-2 wins. It’s tough to tell which games deserve your attention, so let us do that for you.

Why It Matters: Among the most intriguing Week 4 contests:

– Is the NFC South interesting all of a sudden? Not many people had the Saints primed for a 2-1 start, and more than a few figured Atlanta would be better than 1-2. Over at FanDuel, New Orleans is +145 to win the division, with the Falcons right on its tail at +165. This game should tell us a lot about both teams.

– A matchup between the 3-0 Vikings and 2-1 Packers would be so much more intriguing with Jordan Love back and healthy; the Green Bay QB is going to be a game-time decision to suit up or not. Speaking of QBs, is the Sam Darnold Renaissance for real? He’ll face a strong test against this Packers defense and has played well in small samples in the past. This stretch feels…kinda different though?

– Similarly, are the Steelers about to improve to 4-0? Mike Tomlin’s team still has only the second-best odds to win their own division (+220 to Baltimore’s +130) although their playoff odds (-134) have shortened after a hot start. How short of a leash is Justin Fields on?

– Finally, a big yawn to the Chiefs winning three of three to begin the year, but the Chargers at 2-1 have a big chance at home, but not without a complication: a win here banks a pivotal AFC West victory and earns them a share of the division lead. But Justin Herbert is dealing with a high ankle sprain, an injury that not only tends to linger, but really doesn’t improve without rest. Jim Harbaugh needs to do what’s best for the Bolts, in both the short- and long-term.

What We’re Watching Today

Mr. Met

MLB Playoff Race – Major League Baseball’s divisions are all wrapped up, but the wild card spots are anything but settled. If you want to scoreboard watch for teams with something at stake, the Royals at Atlanta (7:20 PM ET) features one team in playoff position (KC) and another trying to nudge its way back in (Atlanta.)

The Tigers get a gift of a series against the White Sox (6:40 PM ET) while sitting in the AL’s second wild-card spot. The Twins are still mathematically alive and face the Orioles (8:10 PM ET) who are already ticketed for the postseason.

In the National League, the Mets head to Milwaukee (8:10 PM ET) in an attempt to keep hold of a spot, while Arizona clings to spot no. 3 in the NL and welcomes the Padres (9:40 PM ET), who clinched a wild-card spot already.

FCS Weekly Roundup

Call us if your house needs cleaning, because we did nothing but sweep this week! (Do not call us for housecleaning needs.)

Head here if you are more of a visual learner, but a quick recap:

⚾ Tuesday and Wednesday were nothing but MLB winners. We hit on sides, team totals, total bases prop, and even a strikeout prop. That’s what they call a utility bettor.

🤠 They’ll disappoint their fans in January, but the Cowboys came through for us heavy last night. We saw a big game from the Dak-CeeDee duo, and hit Rico Dowdle’s rushing yards line with room to spare.

🎯 If you hopped on our IG Lives this week, you’d know we cashed two Underdog Fantasy tickets: one for the Monday Night Football game and another on Thursday Night Football. We gave out several home run prop plays on Tuesday that you should’ve tailed, and Rico Dowdle 1st Touchdown yesterday was an FCS stroke of genius that paid out handsomely.
