UNC basketball

It’s finally here!

The NCAA Tournament starts in earnest today, so let the upsets begin. And we didn’t forget about the pros, or the pucks for that matter.

College Hoops Galore

What Happened: With the field down to 64, March Madness is now in full effect. Colorado and Grambling State escaped the First Four round and are now dancing for real. Today’s action includes no. 1 North Carolina and no. 4 Kansas hoping to start deep tourney runs.

Why It Matters: Well, depending on when you read this, you still have several hours to get a bracket filled out.

Looking for a long shot play? No. 4 Auburn has impressive metrics to go along with the sixth best odds (+1800) to win the whole shebang. Will 2022 darling St. Peter’s make another Elite Eight run (+20000)? Anything can happen this time of year (except Purdue not choking, that will definitely happen.)

How We’re Feeling Today

Michael Scott The Office

Like maybe we need to book a medical operation?

Taking off a day to watch wall-to-wall college basketball is an awesome idea, but not always practical. Perhaps that’s why March is Vasectomy SZN for some many diehards. If you need a reason (a legit reason) to be on your couch all day monitoring your bracket, call a doctor and you’ll be above reproach. (And lonely for the rest of your life, but whatever.)

The Look Ahead

Patrick Kane

Patrick Kane POINTS Kaner now has a point in five straight games, and the last time he played the Islanders, he found the back of the net. Speaking of the Isles, the team gives up a ton of shots and superstar goalie Ilya Sorokin has not looked like himself lately. Kane is licking his chops at a 0.5 line.

Fred VanVleet POINTS + ASSISTS Slow game against the Wizards aside, VanVleet has been cooking recently. Regarding tonight’s line (25.5), he’s gone over that number in eight of his last 10, and had a 20/10 against the Bulls his last time out.

Kyle Kuzma POINTS 22.5 is a line Kuzma had bested in seven straight games before a dud against Chicago. The Kings defense ranks 18th in the NBA in points per game allowed, so Kuzma should get back on track in this one.
