We cover it all here at FCS.
NBA and NHL? Of course. But we also touch on boxing and the Oscars this morning. Don’t ever question our versatility, just read on and enjoy the gift.
Tyson vs. Paul is Happening
What Happened: Mike Tyson is getting back in the boxing ring. Wait, what is this, 1996? Our younger crowd might be more familiar with his opponent, YouTuber/rapper/boxer Jake Paul. Bit of a generational gap here: Tyson is 30 years older than Paul.
Why It Matters: Hey, it’s a big name boxing match, something that is rare these days. And it’s sure to draw an audience, whether for the boxing or just the spectacle of it all.
As for getting in on the action, DraftKings’s line opened at Paul -360 and Tyson +300. Maybe someday people will no longer fear Tyson dropping the hammer, but it probably hasn’t come just yet. Paul is “9-1” in his boxing career, but he’s stepping into a completely different league with Iron Mike. Best of luck bud.
How We’re Feeling Today
Intrigued, because Sunday is Oscars Night and no one said you can only bet on sports. Oppenheimer, Christopher Nolan’s bomb epic, is the heavy favorite to capture Best Picture. Going chalk is no fun, but bet against this one at your own risk. Plenty of people would love to see Underdog Barbie prevail, but we aren’t gonna blow smoke on International Women’s Day: that’s probably *not* happening.
The Look Ahead
LeBron James POINTS + ASSISTS – Ever hear of this guy? We kid, but LeBron has really stepped it up down the stretch. He’s eclipsed the line on his PA (34.5) in seven of his last 10. He is dealing with an ankle injury, so something to monitor there.
Devon Toews POINTS – The Avalanche defenseman has a point in five straight, and secured an assist when Colorado faced the Wild back in November. With OVER 0.5 points at +120, might be a nice play to ride the hot hand.
Jordan Eberle SOG – The Kraken winger has been piling up the shots recently, hitting 3+ in his last four, including a four-shot performance against these very Jets on Tuesday. 2.5 SOG has a +130 line this morning, which we don’t hate.
