Another opponent handled on Monday Night Football…
…and suddenly it’s all in on the Baltimore Ravens again.
Jackson, Ravens Soar On MNF
What Happened: Another Monday Night Football game featuring the Baltimore Ravens, another electric performance from Lamar Jackson.
The Ravens QB shined again last night, helping coach John Harbaugh improve to 3-0 over little brother Jim. For his career, Jackson is 7-2 on MNF, he’s produced 25 total touchdowns (22 passing and three rushing), and has not thrown a single interception.
In last night’s 30-23 win, he threw for two, ran for another, and might’ve just put his team in the driver’s seat in the AFC North race.
Why It Matters: Baltimore’s triumph last night, combined with Pittsburgh’s costly stumble on Thursday night against the Browns, has both projections systems and oddsmakers convinced it’s the Ravens’ division to lose.
Over at FanDuel, John Harbaugh’s outfit is now -210 to win the North, with the Steelers a +170 play. ESPN’s projection system thinks Baltimore has a 56.8% chance, with Pittsburgh at 43%.
We can’t forget that the Steelers have a game in hand, and more crucially, these old foes will meet in Week 16 in a game that’s likely to hold massive implications for the eventual division winner. But taking down a playoff-bound Chargers team has inspired a boost of confidence in the Ravens; is that enough for sports bettors to throw their lot in with Harbaugh and Jackson?
What We’re Watching Today
Champions League (3:00 PM ET) – Manchester City, losers of five straight across all competitions, take on Dutch side Feyenoord, while Bayern Munich and PSG are set to do battle in Germany in a match PSG badly needs if it hopes to continue on in this competition.
Lakers at Suns (10:00 PM ET) – The inaugural NBA Cup-winning Lakers and Cup MVP LeBron James take on a Suns team that’s looking to get healthy. Phoenix has lost five straight, but should have Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal back in the lineup after several missed games for both due to calf injuries.
The Look Ahead
Quinn Hughes SOG – Hughes’ line for shots on goal tonight is 2.5, a number that he’s exceeded in 12 of his 19 games played this season. The Bruins sit just outside the top-10 in shots allowed, so they won’t be too big an obstacle for Hughes to cash this play in.
