What Happened: Last night’s Pacers-Knicks Game 2 delivered several trending-worthy moments for the social media crowd, not to mention a fantastic basketball game.
It also might’ve been a warning shot that the Eastern Conference is not all wrapped up, and that the Celtics have some competition.
Why It Matters: New York went up two games to nil in its second round matchup with Indiana while delivering a brash message and a comeback performance.
Jalen Brunson battled through an ankle injury to drop 24 points in the second half, Josh Hart let Reggie Miller know what the MSG crowd thought of him, and the second-seeded Knicks are two games closer to their first Eastern Conference finals appearance since the 1999-2000 season.
At FanDuel, the Celtics have -550 odds to emerge from the East. The Knicks are at +440 and seem to have a knack for theatrics so far this postseason. Enough to take them as a long shot Finals team?

Officially bored with the NBA MVP award!
For the third time in four seasons, Denver’s Nikola Jokić captured the league’s highest individual honor. Well deserved? Undoubtedly. An inspiring choice? Not so much.
It would’ve been cool to see Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder win. The “finally producing results from the rebuild” team led by its newest superstar makes for a good story.
But ultimately, Jokić’s dominant campaign was rewarded, and rightfully so. It wasn’t the wrong choice; just one that makes us yawn a bit.
The Look Ahead
Andrei Svechnikov POINTS – No need to panic yet for the Hurricanes, despite being down 0-2 in this series to the Rangers. But they need to handle business at home tonight, and both games have featured seven combined goals, so we won’t be surprised if Svechnikov produces his second point of this series.
