The NFC North is dominating the NFL through six weeks of play…

will it result in the Lombardi Trophy switching conferences?

Who Takes NFC North Top Spot?

What Happened: Last season, the NFL’s AFC North division featured four teams with winning records, and sent three of its members to the postseason.

This year, the North is again a gauntlet of a division, only this time, it’s the NFC’s version.

Why It Matters: The Vikings are the envy of the NFL at 5-0. But the early-season success of the Lions, Packers, and Bears means that this division is far from sewn up.

Per the Football Power Index, Minnesota’s odds of winning the division are 36.6%, below even the 4-1 Lions at 41.7%. The betting markets feature both the Lions and Vikings as +140 to finish the season atop the West; the Packers (4-2) are +550, while the Bears (4-2) are +950.

That makes this Sunday’s Lions-Vikings clash crucial. Sam Darnold and the boys have already banked a win within the division; Dan Campbell’s team hasn’t faced a North foe yet.

Entering Week 7, Minnesota, Detroit, and Green Bay’s playoff odds are all 65% or better. (Chicago is hovering above 40%.) Knowing full well that Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid are still alive and involved in professional football, taking any NFC North team to win the Super Bowl this season can be had for +325 odds. The more teams from a division that get into the dance, the better the chances are. And with the way the NFC North is playing, it should be well represented come January.

What We’re Watching Today

Mr. Met

Dodgers at Mets (5:08 PM ET) – It’s do-or-die for the Mets and their magical run to the NLCS. They should feel good about having David Peterson on the hill tonight; they should feel less good that the Dodgers have been scraping airplanes headed for LaGuardia with the home runs they’ve been launching into orbit.

Yankees at Guardians (8:08 PM ET) – Last night’s thrilling win for the Guardians has injected new life into this series, and now the home team can tie up the series with another victory. With both teams handing the ball to rookie starting pitchers who are getting their first taste of postseason baseball, the length and quality each bullpen can provide tonight will be crucial. That would certainly seem to favor one side…

Liberty at Lynx (8:00 PM ET) – Mets down bad, Yanks letting Cleveland back into the series — the Liberty need to save New York! Or at least capture its first WNBA title in franchise history, although it will have to come in a tough road environment.

FCS Weekly Roundup

October is heaven for sports bettors, but if you’ve been tailing Full Card Sweep? Man, please tell us what it’s like to be rich. A quick recap of the week:

🔥 FCS VIPs got five plays for Thursday Night Football and four of them cashed. How Bo Nix avoided an interception, we don’t know. But that makes us 9-1 across the last two TNFs.

📰 The way we crush TNF? We do all Sunday too; our Sunday Ticket package delivers one play per NFL game to bring the excitement (and the profits.)

💸 We continue to roll through the MLB postseason, with a sterling 17-7 record. Our college football ledger? Nine of 11 plays have cashed. And we’ve hit two of three NHL plays so far, with plenty more to come.
